Rays of Inspiration

Napowrimo day 14:
Inspiration for poetry .

Through the winsome lips of my English teacher
under the shade of that humongous banyan tree,
I was welcomed into the cradle of poetry.

Through the mesmerizing fillip of my mom’s benign words
between the walls of her aromatic presence,
my rays of inspiration were ignited.

Through the twilight years of my adolescence
beneath the night of that waxing gibbous moon,
doodles of my poetry were illuminated.

Through the horizon of that unseen exotic eternity
the thirst of my quintessential quest expands into
the expanse of ever-unfolding poetry.

Unapologetically yours

I am challenged to write an unapologetic poem.

Napowrimo Day-13
April 13, 2020

You know what,
once I stole a recipe of French fries
from the catalog of a blog.
If you think
I am a sly and stealthy serpent
I don’t in the least repent
for all I care is to appease
the drooling taste buds and please
my guests unexpected.

I don’t mind being a thief
to defend my title “chef chief”
for great chefs “don’t
create but steal recipes”
to twist the words of legendary T.S. Eliot.
Would I even ignore it as an idiot?
